Valerie Said received her Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Eastern Michigan University.  After graduation she began teaching Elementary Music at Canton Charter Academy in Canton, Mi. From 2009-2016 Valerie Said taught as the Associate Director of Choirs at Plymouth-Canton Educational Park where she would collaborate and co-direct with her former teacher/ mentor, Jennifer L. Neumann. During her tenure, the P-CEP Choir program grew in numbers and course offerings.  Under her direction, the P-CEP Choirs performed at various community events, with the University of Michigan Women's Glee Club, and with the Michigan Philharmonic. As of 2020 Valerie has been the Director of K-12 Music at Wixom Christian School where she teaches preschool through elementary music, beginning band, JH/HS band, JH/HS choir, and directs the spring musical. Valerie lives in South Lyon with her husband and three sons.
