Diane Schoff

MM Vocal Performance

Diane Schoff is a seasoned professional singer, having sung on stages and in ensembles across the country. As a student of Robert Fountain at the University of Wisconsin she developed her love of choral works and learned and performed all of the Bach motets under his direction. From there Diane pursued her Master of Music in vocal performance at the University of Texas in Austin and sang with such professional organizations as Conspirare, under the direction of Craig Hella Johnson, Victoria Bach festival, Texas Masterworks Chorale, and the Santa Fe Desert chorale. in the metro Detroit area she has sung with ensembles for the DSO, Orchestra Sono, and the Music at Memorial concert series. She has now held a position as director, section leader and soloist at a variety of churches around the country and continues that work at Grosse Pointe Memorial church under the direction of James Biery. Finally, Diane is a performer at home on stage with the Detroit Opera(formerly MOT) chorus, Opera in the Parks and in comprimario roles, most recently as a part of the 12 hr production of Kjartansons 'Bliss' and reprising her many roles in 'Frida'. This Fall she will return to the stage of Opera Grand Rapids as Ruth in their production of 'Pirates of Penzance' and in the ensemble for Detroit Opera's production of Aida.
